STRAPS’ PLACEMENT
On our boards we advise to start with a central position straps’ placement. Regarding the Pgreco, Circle and Trans-X, we have expected two standard positions forwarded, more central on the board, fit for beginners and more pulled back for the advanced riders. Even in this case, start from the central position. Moving forward the position in the fore hole, the control will be improved; moving back the position in the hole nearer to the tail, the board will be freer and faster and easier to control.
A further adjustment of the straps’ position will depend on your weight and foot’s form. The width of the straps is 15,5 cm. And it’s fit for all, if your feet is particularly small, you can use the nearer hole, for example the outward central one and the fore inward one; so you can save 2,5 cm reaching a width of 13 cm between the straps. If you differently use very cumbersome winter shoes, you can save 2,5 cm of width, placing the straps in the more distant hole, reaching a width of 18 cm.
If you have bought a wind board in order to learn, we advise you to use the central position of the straps before, that is easier to manage in getting in planning and in using the trapeze, and after the pulled back position when you’ll feel the need. |
FIN’S CHOICE AND PLACEMENT
The serial fins of the Drops 2010 boards are high-quality, so we advise you to use as the first choice.
All the boards, excluding the wave ones, have a power box or tuttle solution, so you can’t move them, only replace with a smaller or bigger size.
The Naked boards have smaller fins than the freeride boards of the other brands, and this is because the Naked is a really manoeuvrable board and has a great skill of getting in planning. With this trim, the board gets in planning as the other boards but preserves its great manageability skills. If you want to increase the upwind and getting in planning performances, you can take a bigger slalom fin in addition to the serial fin, in the other cases, including the top speed one, the serial fin is the best.
Kranz is a regatta slalom board and the serial fin appeared as the one for the best performances, among which all the tested fins. A lot of companies don’t supply the serial fin for the slalom boards, but we have found a solution for the intermediate riders, leaving to the top riders the chance to replace the serial fin with a really specialistic fins.
The Concrete 2010 is supplied with a tri-fin set; this trim is perfect for every kind of wave in on-shore, off-shore and side-shore conditions.
The Concrete is perfect in tri-fin trim but it’s the top replacing the trifin with a single central fin trim in bump&jump with flat water condition. The board will be slightly faster but it will take off the water reducing the hold of the lateral fins. |
TRACK’S POSITION
The track’s position has to start from the central point of the finbox. In big sails conditions, regarding the single board range of use, move forward on the nose for a quarter of track, if the sail is smaller and the board is at the limit of its range, move back for a quarter. Avoid the extreme positions as full forwarded or back track compared to the finbox length. |
