HOW I CAN CHOOSE MY BOARD?
Firstly, choose if you want to prefer manoeuvres or speed; then take in consideration the tipical conditions you often find, the sail and the sea condition.
If you love manoeuvres but you always have flat conditions, choose the Naked, the Stubby or the Freewave; if you love speed, choose the Kranz. If you are a beginner, take the Trans-X or the Pgreco. Then, consider your weight and the sail size you usually use. The choose will come easier. |
I AM A BEGINNER AND I’VE GOT WINDSURF LESSONS. WHAT I CAN BUY?

HOW I CAN CHOOSE THE RIGHT TRIM IN THE WAVE?
The board with the top range of use is the one with the single fin! Starting with this assumption, we have searched alternative solutions to the single fin in order to improve the surfing. The single fin board gets fast in the carve of the wave, but tend to lose speed in cut back, especially if the wave doesn’t push too much. For this reason we have introduced the twinzers, the double fin boards. The twinzer goes straight as the single fin board does, but with a less free trim, and manages to close better the cut backs. It starts slightly late in getting in planning but it goes flatter giving a more control sensation. After the twinzer, there were multifin solutions until the quad. These boards, thanks to the better hold of the fins in carving, allowed the shapers to reduce the board curvature, the so-called “rocker”, realizing fast and super manoeuvrable boards; also in this case the real advantages can be noticed on the board in surfing after a bottom, in the cut back. The trifin developed by Drops with the Concrete line expands the single fin concept. The board gets fast in the carve of the wave as a single fin board but improves the cut back features thanks to the help of the lateral fins hold as a multifin does. This is valid in ideal conditions of surfing but the single fin board is the top in strong wind conditions and choppy water. For this reason, our Concrete boards can mount the single fin trim working good, expanding the range besides the traditional trim. |
